| Tuc-Tuc - S'only wat to travel. |
Despite standing by my high minded jet lagged induced writing writing last night today we have played the role of being a tourist. As intended for most of holiday. HEAT is the first overriding factor. Temperature 32 in day time. Adjusting to that from 2 degrees in the UK for Jehan is especially hard. However we still managed to get tuc tuc to market where fresh fruit, vergatables and snakes and eels (live) can be purchased. It was a good introduction to day to day life in Thailand. THe sights, the smells... oh the smells (both is a good and v bad way)
Airconditioned restaurant playing Thai versions of Christmas carols provided the children with relief and of course the food all uniquely Thai and better than it ever was. And before long we were leaving it all behind as we hurtled back tuc tuc style to the calm and tranquility of the hotel.
WHich is where this is. I so recommend this hotel. It is in old wooden Thai style house - open plan with lots of space for chilling and as you can see pool splashing to escape the heat.
And relax playing games aas Jehan is demonstrating so well here...
Although too hot to walk far Samina and I managed a walk fround the lanes or 'sois' in Thai where we stumbled across this beautiful temple. Time to write about is limited but it was a magical find in the middle of the chaos of day to life.
Leaving Bangkok now to head north by overnight train to Chiang Mai. Arrive 7.00 am Thursday.
